Chris Hughton suffers first defeat as Ghana coach

Mexico has inflicted Chris Hughton his first defeat since assuming the helm as head coach of Ghana's Black Stars.

PSV Eindhoven forward Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna of Cruz Azul struck twice in the second half to consign the Black Stars to a 2-0 defeat in an international friendly game at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, USA.

The defeat marks Hughton's only defeat since being appointed head coach of the Black Stars in February 2023.

The former Nottingham Forest manager has been in charge of 6 games for the West Africans since March 2023 - three wins, 2 draws, and the defeat against Mexico.

In the 6 games, his Ghana side has scored 7 goals and conceded 5 goals.
