Japanese side Ventforet Kofu made lighworks of Chinese outfit Zhejiang Professional by hammering them 4-1 to record their second win in Group H of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League.

The J2 League side now stand a bright chance of progressing to the knock phase of the competition following the emphatic victory over their rivals.

39-year-old Nigerian striker Peter Utaka opened the floodgates for Ventforet when he raced to latch on to a defense-splitting pass from Ryotaro Nakamura and fired home for the opener with 17 minutes gone.

Brazilian Getulio added the second goal in first-half stoppage-time at the New Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

Former Urawa Red Diamonds player Leonardo returned to Japan to net a consolation goal in the 50th minute for the Chinese side however, Masahiro Sekiguchi restored the margin for Kofu 8 minutes later.

Yoshiki Torikai cemented the victory for Kofu with an 89th minute blockbuster finish.
Kofu will host Melbourne City at the Japan National Stadium on Matchday 5 on November 29, 2023.
