Dutch trainer Martinus Koopman has become the first Hearts of Oak coach to beat a side led by Maxwell Konadu in a league fixture.

Koopman, 67, was in charge at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 2 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Congolese Kashala Wanet Ramos scored the game's solitary goal as early as the 4th minute helping the Phobians to record a slender 1-0 win over Nsoatreman.

This means the Dutchman has become the first Hearts of Oak coach to overcome a side led by Maxwell Konadu in a league game.

Prior to Sunday's fixture, Konadu had faced Hearts of Oak 9 times with Wa All Stars, Asante Kotoko, and Legon Cities. In all those encounters, Hearts had failed to beat his side.

The former Ghana striker had won 4 and drawn 5 times against the Phobians prior to the clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The latest record means it is Koopman who has broken the jinx.
