Chris Hughton calls up La Liga defender who pocketed Vini Jr and Jude Bellingham for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar and Comoros

Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has handed a call-up to La Liga defender Abdul Mumin for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series double-header against Madagascar and Comoros.

The 25-year-old recenly impressed at the Santiago Bernabeu where he excelled against Vini Jr and Jude Bellingham as Rayo Vallecano frustrated Real Madrid.

This becomes the second time Mumin has received an international call-up to recent the West African giants but he is yet to feature for the side.

He takes up the place of Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo who picked up an injury during Ghana's 2-0 loss to Mexico last month.

Istanbul Basakhesir defender Jerome Opoku has also been dropped from the squad.
