Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale protected their perfect start to the 2023/24 AFC Champions League campaign with a 4-2 home triumph over Thai side Pathum United on Tuesday.

Former Consadole Sapporo midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin scored twice in the first-half as Pathum crawled from behind twice to end the first 45 minutes 2-2.

28-year-old midfielder Yasuto Wakizaka converted two spot kicks in the first-half for Kawasaki Frontale at the Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium.

Experienced midfielder Kazuya Yamamura scored in the 68th minute before former Japan youth international  Taisei Miyashiro sealed the win for the home side.

Frontale have won all 4 games in the group stage, scoring 10 goals and allowing just 4 goals into their net.
