Ventforet Kofu manager Yoshiyuki Shinoda has named a strong starting XI to face Melbourne City in the 2023/24 Group H clash on Wednesday night.
The 52-year-old has picked burly 39-year-old forward Nigerian striker Peter Utaka to lead his attack with Ryotaro Nakamura operating as an advanced No.8.
Australian guardian Michael Woud drops out of the starting XI with Tsubasa Shibuaya assuming responsibilities in between the sticks.
Regulars Shion Inoue, Motoki Hasegawa, and Masahiro Sekiguchi are all starters.
