Ghana suffered its heaviest defeat at the hands of the United States of America after succumbing to a 4-0 humiliation at the Geodis Park in Nashville in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

Borussia Dortmund star Giovanni Reyna, whose father - Claudio Reyna, featured against the Black Stars during the 2006 FIFA World Cup encounter in German, registered a first-half brace while AC Milan forward  converted a 19th minute penalty to add to a Folarin Balogun's 22nd minute goal.

The Americans run riot over the Chris Hughton's side as they laid series of explosive attacking onslaughts at the Ghana defence which was composed of debutant Jerome Opoku and Amiens defender Nicholas Opoku as well as Gideon Mensah and Alidu Seidu.

In a space of 17 years, the Americans have slowly crawled up from two defeats (2006 and 2010) to become a better soccer nation with a better head-to-head advantage.

During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the United States of America squad had 12 players plying their trades overseas with 7 playing in England, 3 in German, 1 in Belgium and 1 in the Nertherlands.

17 years on, only 2 home-based players can be found in their squad with top players enjoying top-flight football in Italy, Spain, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Scotland and even Brazil.

It is obvious that the Americans have systematically nurtured themselves into being a top-class soccer nation and will continue to flourish and establish more dominance over many nations like Ghana in the global sport.

Chris Hughton and his entire had no solution to the Americans' system as they reduced the game to a mere training grounds rehearsal especially for the rest of the second 45 minutes.

Mohammed Kudus' penchant for releasing the ball late to his teammates basically slowed the transitional play of the Black Stars and limited supplies to Inaki Williams and Joseph Paintsil. Jordan Ayew, who was supposed to play in attack, was mostly found dropping deep to also express himself on the ball.

In the end, the Americans came into the second-half to exercise how to contain pressure and not to compete with a non-existent side.
